Our Story
Botanical Forrest was born from a love of scented candles – the sense of wellbeing they create and the memories they invoke. I have always had a passion for candles and the atmosphere they create in my home. So after commuting from Suffolk to London for 20 years, I re-evaluated my lifestyle and made the decision to create Botanical Forrest.
Located in rural Suffolk, with its inspirational mix of heathland, woodland and heritage coastline, our products are inspired by nature. I believe scent is incredibly emotive and can improve our mood and sense of wellbeing. Our products are designed to capture a memory and evoke a spirit of cosiness and contentment, helping to contribute to emotional wellbeing.
Collaborating with other local businesses is important to me. We work with a local potter to produce our handmade wax burners and as we expand our product range, we will work with other local artisans.
Our mission is simple: to create sumptuously scented botanical candles, with natural eco-conscious ingredients that evoke a sense of peacefulness.
Sustainability
We made a conscious decision to be as environmentally friendly as possible. From the vegan-friendly ingredients in our products, to the packaging we use which is recyclable. We use no plastics in any of our packaging. Once used our glass and metal jars can be washed to remove any residual wax, and re-used for storing all manner of items or recycled.
Every single Botanical Forrest candle and wax melt is made by hand in small batches using 100% soy wax and natural cotton wicks. We use plant-based soy wax, made from soybeans, as an alternative to traditional petroleum-based paraffin candles. The soy wax is vegan-friendly and has not been genetically modified.
The soft, creamy soy wax is blended with our fragrances and essential oils to produce a clean, slow-burning candle.
